Dr. Verónica Bermúdez Benito contributes to the Industry Forum Committee of the IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC). Her perspective spans materials research, lab-to-fab transfer, industrial manufacturing and photovoltaic reliability under operating conditions.
Bringing industrial questions into scientific dialogue
For BERBETIN, the value of this dialogue lies in connecting what research demonstrates with what manufacturers and users need to establish next. Relevant questions include process repeatability, cell-to-module transfer, qualification, field performance and the evidence required before committing to a new product or production route.
Different applications also require different evidence. Manufacturing yield, installation constraints, operating environment and customer requirements must be considered together when evaluating the next step for a PV technology.
Looking ahead to PVSC 55
The 55th IEEE PVSC will take place in Pasadena, California, on 20–24 June 2027. The conference brings together the photovoltaic research and industry community across materials, devices, manufacturing and systems.
