Berbetin is an independent advisory firm focused on de-risking clean energy technologies at the point where innovation meets manufacturing, deployment, and investment.

We work with investors, manufacturers, and project developers to enable informed scale-up decisions — beyond lab performance, pilot results, and technology hype.

Berbetin operates at critical scale-up inflection points — pre-investment, pre-FEED analysis, first-of-a-kind (FOAK) deployment, and early industrial scale-up — where technical and system decisions determine long-term cost performance (LCOE), reliability, and financial risk.

Our work focuses on system-level risk, where most scale-up failures occur. While rooted in solar, our approach extends across energy storage, hydrogen, and emerging clean energy systems, where scaling challenges follow similar patterns.

We work upstream of capital allocation and industrial commitment, ensuring that promising technologies become deployable, financeable, and repeatable at scale.

Berbetin’s core value lies in identifying hidden risks early and aligning technology and system choices with industrial execution and investment reality.

Dr. Verónica Bermúdez

Clean Energy Scale-Up & Industrialization Advisor

Dr. Verónica Bermúdez is a scale-up and industrialization expert in clean energy technologies, with more than 20 years of international experience working at the intersection of advanced technologies, manufacturing readiness, and large-scale deployment.

Her work focuses on the most critical and least understood phase of the energy transition: the point where promising technologies must prove they can be manufactured, integrated, and deployed at scale.

Her career spans applied R&D, industrial development, and system-level deployment across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She has consistently operated at the boundary where technologies either transition successfully into industrial reality — or fail during scale-up.

Verónica’s expertise is grounded in real-world constraints: yield learning, process robustness, system integration, balance-of-system trade-offs, and reliability under operating conditions. She works upstream of capital allocation and industrial commitment, helping investors and industrial teams identify hidden risks early and make informed scale-up decisions.

Through Berbetin, she advises infrastructure funds, manufacturers, and project developers on technology scale-up, FOAK systems, and industrialization strategy, with a clear focus on de-risking decisions that determine long-term cost, reliability, and bankability.

While her foundation is in photovoltaics, her work extends across energy storage, hydrogen, and emerging clean energy systems, where scale-up challenges follow similar patterns across technologies.

She holds a PhD in Physics and is recognized for her ability to translate deep technical insight into decision-grade guidance for industrial and investment audiences.
