Company Overview
Berbetin is an independent advisory firm focused on de-risking solar technologies at the point where innovation meets manufacturing, deployment, and investment. We support investors, manufacturers, and project developers in making informed decisions about scaling solar — beyond lab performance, pilot results, and technology hype.
Berbetin operates at critical scale-up inflection points — pre-investment, first-of-a-kind (FOAK) deployment, and early industrial scale-up — where technical and system decisions determine long-term cost performance (LCOE), reliability, and financial risk.
Our work focuses on system-level solar risk, including:
-
manufacturing and gigafactory readiness
-
technology selection beyond headline efficiency
-
balance-of-system (BOS) and system integration trade-offs
-
reliability, performance stability, and bankability assessment
We work upstream of capital allocation and industrial commitment, helping ensure that promising solar innovations become deployable, financeable, and repeatable at scale.
Berbetin’s core value lies in identifying hidden risks early and aligning technology and system choices with industrial execution and investment reality.
Why This Matters
Most solar related technologies do not fail in the lab - they fail during scale-up, manufacturing ramp, and system deployment. Berbetin's approach is grounded in industrial reality, system engineering, and investment decision criteria- not just performance metrics.
What We Do
We support:
-
Pre-investment due diligence for solar scale-up
-
FOAK and industrial scale-up advisory
-
Manufacturing and system strategy alignment
We do not provide:
-
generic innovation consulting
-
lab-only performance optimization
-
project marketing or technology hype
We focus where capital, industrial execution, and risk intersect.
How We Work: Remote by Design, Global by Nature
At Berbetin, remote working isn’t just about flexibility — it’s a strategic foundation. Our model allows us to operate across regions, mobilize top-tier expertise from our global network, and stay agile in delivering clean energy solutions where they’re most needed. By working remotely, we reduce overhead, accelerate collaboration, and stay focused on what matters most: scaling impactful technologies from lab to market
Meet Our Founder
Dr. Verónica Bermúdez is a solar scale-up and industrialization expert with more than 20 years of international experience working at the intersection of advanced photovoltaic technologies, manufacturing readiness, and large-scale deployment.
Her career spans applied R&D, industrial development, and system-level deployment, where she has repeatedly worked at the boundary where promising solar technologies either succeed at scale — or fail. This includes senior roles in industrial and research environments across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, supporting the transition from laboratory performance to bankable, industrial reality.
Verónica’s expertise is grounded in real manufacturing and deployment constraints: yield learning, process robustness, system integration, balance-of-system trade-offs, and reliability under real operating conditions. She works upstream of capital and industrial commitment, helping investors and industrial teams identify hidden risks early and make informed scale-up decisions.
Through Berbetin, she advises infrastructure funds, manufacturers, and project developers on solar technology scale-up, FOAK projects, and manufacturing strategy — with a clear focus on de-risking decisions that determine long-term cost, reliability, and bankability.
She holds a PhD in Physics and is recognized for her ability to translate deep technical insight into decision-grade guidance for industrial and investment audiences.
